One Balloon

by LEE

There once was a man, and this man was your everyday man. Suit and briefcase: the ultimate work get-up. He climbed to the top of a platform, running up the stairs to the top. He looked at the sign:

One Balloon P.P.

"Hmmm," he thought. "How will this go today?"

As he approached the top, he grabbed a balloon and prepared to ascend the height of the world. The fences and grasses whistled in wind as he prepared himself to take the last steps of his old life.

Being above the clouds, the air was really thin and frail. The mountains were barely poked their heads above the troposphere. The top was close, but so far away. The end was so small, but the power it held, so great.

He closed his eyes.

"I hope today's better."
